Emma Bamblett is a proud Aboriginal woman with Wemba Wemba, Gunditjmara, Ndgajon-ji and Taungurung connections.
She resides in Mernda and proud mum to 4 children and grandmother to 2 gorgeous granddaughters. She has called Melbourne her home for over 20 years. Originally from Echuca on the Murray river. She remembers as a young girl going to Robinvale visiting her Aunty Barb and watching her paint. This is where her love for painting started.
22 years ago, Emma started to get commission's through working in the child and family welfare sector. She found meaning and purpose painting families journey's through her artwork. Emma prefers to paint with bright and vibrant acrylic colours in her artwork, as she hopes people see and feel what she is feeling when they look at her paintings.

Created in collaboration with my cousin, Emma Bamblett, this sensory tray brings her original artwork to life for learning and play 🤎
Emma’s design draws inspiration from Bunjil the Eagle, land, waters, and the sun - elements that reflect connection, guidance, and care for Country. Her artwork has been thoughtfully transformed into a tactile play tray that invites exploration of a significant part of Aboriginal culture.
Possum skins have long held an important place in Aboriginal culture in the south-eastern parts of Australia. Traditionally used to make cloaks for warmth, storytelling, and mapping Country, each skin carried stories and meaning. Babies would be given just a few pelts, with cloaks growing as they grew.
Today, possum skin cloaks are still created, with designs burned or painted onto the skins and stitched together using modern techniques. Continuing cultural practice in contemporary ways.
Designed for use with playdough, dry sensory bases, or small world play, this tray offers a meaningful way to introduce cultural learning through hands-on exploration. Perfect for homes, classrooms, and community spaces, it supports curiosity, conversation, and connection through everyday play.
Made in Australia from eco-friendly, biodegradable materials 🌱
